WELCOME TO YMCA INTERNATIONAL DEAF YOUTH CAMP
|

| 14 Malaysian Deaf participants including 3 hearing staff and volunteers attended the 32nd YMCA Deaf International Youth Camp (HH Camp) in Osaka, Japan from 2nd to 7th August 2007. The Camp was organised by the Osaka YMCA International with the theme “One Step”. Among the participating countries were Hong Kong, Korea, Macau, Taiwan and Malaysia. Above all, the camp was an enjoyable experience for all. |
Reflections on HH Camp, Osaka, Japan 2007
 |
“ I can see that my group had “TEAMWORK” just like a family. I will always have fond memories of them because they like to share and help each other. I ‘ve learned a lot from the International Youth HH Camp and I hope the Deaf Community will continue to keep in touch so that we can have a well-supported social network.” .”
Jimmy Chai - DC Chairperson |
“ There were great activities and interesting ideas allowing us to learn various activities from participants of the other countries. Among the fun activities were craft-making & handicrafts using recycled paper & shells. We also played cool games using a compass and key chains. Each participant was taught how to cook Japanese food like Dumplings and Udong mee. I have many good memories.“

“I learnt how to play the water activities and gained a lot of experience. I also enjoyed the dancing, fellowship and have made many news friends from diffferent cultures. “

“What I enjoyed best was the cultural exchange as we could communicate with foreign participants and take part in a lot of fun activities. My favourite was the Marine Program which was a first for me.“
Parameswaran - DC member |
“We enjoyed learning to handle and balance the yacht and kayak during water sport activities. I had a chance to learn different sign language from different countries from Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. We had a fun and friendly experience.”
