DEAF TEENS CLUB

OBJECTIVE

:::	To provide opportunities for development of leadership
:::	To create opportunities for teens to grow and develop their self-confidence, self-esteem and self-reliance through discovery and experiences that will support and strengthen their emotional physical and intellectual.
:::	To provide avenues for the deaf teens to come in fellowship and share with one another through planned integrated activities / programmes, that will instil a sense of belonging and the spirit of co-operation.

DEAF CLUB

MISSION STATEMENT

The Deaf Club exists to help Deaf individuals and their families to fully participate in society.

THE PRIMARY PURPOSE

To promote the rights of the Deaf while encouraging individual members to improve their quality of life.

MEETINGS

DAYS	Sunday (once a month)
TIME	3.00pm - 5.00pm (workshop etc) 5.00pm - 7.00pm (sport/recreation) by booking only
VENUE	YMCA Kuala Lumpur

MEMBERSHIP FEE

Open to 19 years above
RM60.00 per annum
RM20.00 registration fee (new member)

FRIENDS OF THE DEAF (FOD)

OBJECTIVES

:::	To provide an avenue for persons who have taken a Sign Language course to practice and improve their Sign Language skills.
:::	To increase awareness about Deafness, Deaf Community and Deaf Culture.
:::	To organise community-based activities.
:::	Promote friendship among FOD members

PROGRAMMES & ACTIVITIES

:::	Guided Signing Practise
:::	Social events with the Deaf community
:::	Community Work
:::	Workshops / Seminars on issues related to Deafness, Interpreting, etc.

MEETINGS

FOD Sessions:	First Thursday of the month (6.45pm - 8.00pm)
FOD/PSG Workshops:	Sunday (once a month), 3pm-5pm

Open to: those members of YMCA K.L. who have taken up Sthe PMY Sign Language course.
Membership fee: RM 30.00 per annum.
