5 acreas in Brickfields from Selangor Government, wooden building

Construction of new single brick building

Hostel added (on new second storey)

Building taken over by the Japanese forces

YMCA activities resumed

GOLDEN JUBILEE
1968
Opening of new 4-storeybuilding by HRH Sultan of Selangor
1978
Renovation / Upgrading of facilities / Increase in activities

DEVELOPMENT OF YMCA's COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

  • Anniversary Celebrations (1980)
  • expansion of scope of chidren's work
  • development of integrated deaf work programme
  • development of senior citizens' work
  • expension of scope of adults education course
  • development of Brickfields Community (Brickcom) Programme
  • development of outdoor education programmes

EXPANSION OF YMCA's COMMUNITY PROGRAMME

  • expension of outdoor education programmes
  • expension of work with Brickfields Community (BRICKCOM)
  • expension of integrated services for deaf community
  • major upgrading of recreational facilities, hostel, car-park, restaurant.
  • 90th Anniversary celebrated (1995)
  • local host for 14th Assembly of YMCAs in Asia (1995)
