Parent Infant Programme

For Deaf Children Aged 6 Months – 3 Years

One (1) Hour Sessions By Appointment Only  |  Pusat Jagaan ‘Y’ Centre, YMCA KL

Session Rate: RM30.00  /hour per session

An infant’s most important learning stage takes place between birth and the age of 4 years. An infant with hearing difficulties is unable to hear the sounds around him and is unable to respond accordingly. It is important that hearing loss is identified as early as possible to maximize available services for the development of the child and to help the parents cope with hearing loss.

Pre-School Programme

For Deaf Children Aged 3 Years – 6 Years

Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays  |  9:00am – 12:00pm

Pusat Jagaan ‘Y’ Centre, YMCA KL

Rate: RM120.00 /month per student

The Pre-School Programme is held three (3) times a week and focusses on communication skills and language development. The children are also taught Bahasa Malaysia, English, Science, Mathematics, Moral/Ethics, and Basic Sign Language. Their education is also instilled with a sense of discipline and social skills in preparation for their entry into the National Special Education Schools (Sekolah Kebangsaan Pendidikan Khas) around the country. We also provide breakfast and refreshments for the children and organize excursions, outings, camps and other outdoor activities.

The new term starts on the first Tuesday of January of every year, unless announced otherwise. Register early for your child to the Pusat Jagaan ‘Y’ Pre-School Education now.

Checklist for documents required for registration:

·         One (1) Photocopy of Birth Certificate of Student

·         One (1) Photocopy of OKU Card of Student

·         One (1) Photocopy of NRIC/Passport of Student

·         Two (2) Passport Sized Photos of Student (For YMCA KL Deaf Membership and for Pre-School Registration)

·         One (1) Photocopy of NRIC/Passport of Student’s Parent(s)/Guardian

·         One (1) Passport Sized Photo of Parent(s)/Guardian

·         Official Audiologist’s Report of Student

·         Official Medical Report from Doctor for other health conditions of Student.

After School Programme For Primary School

For Deaf Children Aged 3 Years – 6 Years

The programme gives the Pre-Schoolers extra assistance in reading, writing, and communication and Sign Language skills. For the primary school going Deaf students, it helps them with homework from school and tutors them in subjects where they are weak and guides them to improve their sentence structure, spelling and comprehension skills.

Speech Therapy Sessions For All Ages

For Deaf Individuals Of All Ages  |  By Appointment Only

Thursdays  |  1:30pm – 3:00pm  |  Pusat Jagaan ‘Y’ Centre, YMCA KL

Session Rate: RM150.00 /session per session
